First Place at Rare Disease Hackaton

A team of PhD Students, postdoc researchers and young contract teachers of the Bioinformatics group (coordinated by Professors Monica Bianchini and Franco Scarselli) of the SAILab, won the 5th edition of Rare Disease Hackaton, part of the Forum Sistema Salute di Firenze.

The team proposed a project named EMMA, Emotional Multi Modal Assistant, that uses artificial intelligence methods to support people with muscle function deficits and respiratory problems, helping them communicate their emotions and moods.

The team Power rAIngers is composed of Paolo Andreini, Filippo Costanti, Giuseppe Alessio D’Inverno, Giovanna Maria Dimitri, Caterina Graziani, Veronica Lachi, Niccolò Pancino, and Anna Visibelli.
