Emotion recognition from audio is a widely studied topic, but is still very challenging because is not entirely clear which features are effective for the recognition task. Moreover voice features keep on changing by age and gender. There are several acoustic features that can be considered in the emotion recognition from speech: prosodic features (as pitch, energy, speech rate) and spectral features (as MFCC, cepstral features).
